Holistic Massage

Holistic Massage is the therapeutic application of touch using a range of movements or strokes upon the skin, muscles and joints. A variety of techniques are used, such as long strokes, kneading, friction and percussion all designed to relax and rejuvenate the body and mind.
Massage shortens the recovery time from muscular strain by flushing tissues of lactic acid and other metabolic wastes. Massage deeply relaxes the body and helps to establish a natural equilibrium to bring about good health. Massage may relax or stimulate the nervous system, reducing stress hormones and preparing the body for exercise.

Homoeopathy works on the basis that “Like cures like”. Safe, gentle acting remedies made from substances such as plants and minerals are prescribed by the homeopath according to the symptoms experienced by the individual. It is understood which remedy will be required to help a sick person by the symptom response to the remedies when tested on healthy people during a process called Proving. This is how homeopathy tests all of its medicines, so there is no need for animal testing. Once the remedy has been taken by the sick person, the body’s own vital energy is then stimulated to begin the healing process.

Homeopathy treats the individual as a “whole person”, taking account of the personality, mood, circumstances, medical history and diet, as well as the presenting symptoms.

If you decide to go ahead and consult a homeopath, your first consultation will be longer than subsequent ones. At this time, your personal and family medical histories will be taken, and the homeopath will ask you about yourself and your symptoms. Whilst most illnesses cannot be cured over night, you will be likely to begin to feel better and more able to deal with your symptoms fairly soon. It is thought that one month’s treatment should be allowed for each year an individual has had a long-standing ailment. Fairly recent ailments and those which are acute in nature are generally helped more quickly. However, it is important to remember that each person is individual, both in the way illness is experienced and in cure.

Myofacial release Massage (MFR)

(Myo (muscle) fascial (fascia, the binding around cells))

What is Myofascial Release for?
Myofascial Release (Muscle - Fascia - Release) is used for the release of fascia which has become stuck. Restricted fascia and soft tissues lead to often undiagnosed pain, exhaustion and immune system dysfunctions.

Hardening of the fascia occurs in response to physical or emotional trauma. MFR is necessary for recovery from all types of physical injuries and conditions such as sporting injuries, back and neck pain, whiplash, stress-related muscular tension and repetitive strain injuries.

MFR is also used in the treatment of immune system dysfunctions such as Fibromyalgia, CFS, IBS and others. MFR is most effective for muscular problems due to physical injuries, and emotional and stress related trauma.
