Tony Todd

Tony Todd (Acupuncture, Shonishin, Shiatsu and Tai Chi)
I’ve been practising shiatsu since 1994 when I joined the register of the Shiatsu society following a three year study at the Bristol school of shiatsu and oriental medicine. I went on to study Chinese massage and acupuncture in Shanghai, China, and returning to the UK to complete a 4 year training in acupuncture (at the International College of Oriental Medicine), I began practising full time in 2000.

I have trained in both Japanese and Chinese, modern and traditional styles of acupuncture, and both Namikoshi and Zen styles of shiatsu. I make use of a range of approaches including ear acupuncture, regular body acupuncture, shallow and contact needling (non-insertion), moxibustion (application of heat), massage, shiatsu, and sho ni shin (Japanese paedeatric massage) for treating children.

I practice in the Croydon area and Victoria, and teach at the International College of Oriental Medicine (partner college of Brighton University) where I co-ordinate the Year 1 Chinese Medicine module for the BSc. in acupuncture. I am registered and insured through the British Acupuncture Council and I am on the register of the Shiatsu Society. His website is at www.croydonandpurleyacupuncture.co.uk
