Alexander Technique

Every day life can impose stress and strain on our bodies and minds which builds up over time. The Alexander Technique helps us to change the way we think and the way we respond to our environment, and restores balance in the way we use ourselves. Through individual lessons with a teacher we learn to release muscular tension and change postural habits, working with simple movements and helped by hands-on guidance. Through Using the technique we can carry out our daily activities with greater poise and minimum and feel taller and lighter in our body.
The Technique can help with back and neck pain, knee or joint problems, arthritis, stress, lack of confidence and voice strain; improving breathing, alignment and our overall sense of well-being. It can also help us in the workplace, for example to sit more effectively at our computer or to relax and move efficiently in any activity. Performing artists, sports people, those in pain, as well as anyone who wants to move freely and feel at ease in themselves will benefit from Alexander Technique lessons. It is a unique method of re-education of the individual, which is rapidly becoming better known and practised worldwide.

Holistic Massage

Holistic Massage is the therapeutic application of touch using a range of movements or strokes upon the skin, muscles and joints. A variety of techniques are used, such as long strokes, kneading, friction and percussion all designed to relax and rejuvenate the body and mind. Massage shortens the recovery time from muscular strain by flushing tissues of lactic acid and other metabolic wastes. Massage deeply relaxes the body and helps to establish a natural equilibrium to bring about good health. Massage may relax or stimulate the nervous system, reducing stress hormones and preparing the body for exercise.

Sports Massage

Sports Massage helps alleviate aches and pains and treats minor injuries of muscles, ligaments and tendons. It helps to restore the tissues by increasing blood supply to the area and stretching the muscles. Sports massage also breaks down scar tissue and adhesions which may have built up following injury or overuse and so helps to create more freedom of movement and prevent future injury. The practitioner uses a variety of techniques from friction, neuromuscular technique, muscle energy technique and soft tissue release. Recommended treatment time is 1 hour although sometimes 30 minutes is sufficient.

Swedish Massage

This is an ancient discipline used to improve our health, taking into account the persons whole being. It is an oil-based table massage that incorporates different massage techniques and styles such as deep tissue acupressure. It is tailored towards clients' needs and can be soothing as well as invigorating to help reduce muscle and tissue tension and to bring well being to the body.

Thai Yoga Massage

Thai Yoga massage is a form of healing that works primarily on the ‘energy body’ to release blockages within our energy channels. The practitioner uses a combination of palming, thumbing and yoga stretches to facilitate energy flow. This increases the body’s natural healing potential and good health can be restored. Thai Yoga massage enhances our general state of health and improves energy levels. It can alleviate conditions such as: stiffness in the body, multiple sclerosis, stress, anxiety, general fatigue, back, and shoulder problems. It is also a safe and beneficial treat in pregnancy.
